Narrow Disk with Raised Curls
Eastern Zhou 周 dynasty, Warring States period, 4th century BCE
Jade
Diameter 4.8 cm (1 7/8 in)
Although the diameter of this disk measures slightly less than that of the preceding Eastern Zhou 周 disk, its larger perforation and narrower surface obscures the fact that the arrangement of the curls also conforms to a grid pattern. The curls are densely placed and turn in different directions. The gray green jade is now largely whitish.
