[Washington, DC: Smithsonian Institution, 1982], cat. no. 126) Diagonal fluting covers the surface of the slightly flattened jade ring. While the original use of this type of ring is uncertain, it may have been affixed to another surface. Traditionally said to have been found at Shou chou [Shou xian] 壽縣, Anhui 安徽 province, the ring is related in size and decoration to several other examples in the Freer collection.
